Kicking the Smoking Habit in the South West

10,944 people in the South West, gave up smoking last New Year using the NHS Stop Smoking Service - this is 50 per cent more people than at any other time of the year. And, with 36% of smokers in the South West planning to give up this New Year, 2009 could see a significant drop in the number of smokers in the region.
